Fairborn is a city with great opportunities and our Economic Development Team is on hand to provide assistance to existing, new, and relocating businesses to our community.

The FDC Board meets at Spark Fairborn located at 305 W. Main Street Fairborn, Ohio on the third Thursday of the month at 3pm.

Our Mission

The City will nurture and develop a sustained economic development organization and effort to continually improve Fairborn’s economic environment and resident quality of life. The outcome will be a diversified local economy with new business growth and existing business expansions providing diverse employment opportunities, increased wages and additional investment and reinvestment in the community.

Our Team


Mike Gebhart

Economic Development Director

Mike is a lifelong resident of the Miami Valley and brings a unique perspective to development having worked in the private sector in management and ownership roles for over 12 years from 1993-2005. In 2004, he began his local government career serving first the City of Kettering and then Bethel Township in Miami County as their Township Administrator. In February of 2013, Mike joined the team at the City of Fairborn as the Community Development Director over seeing City Planning, Building Inspection, Code Enforcement and Neighborhood Betterment. During that time, he worked closely with the City’s Economic Development Department to help further the development and re-development of Fairborn. Mike has both his Bachelor’s in Political Science and Master of Public Administration degrees from Wright State University.

Our Economic Development Team works to provide full-service assistance to contribute to the development of existing and new businesses.
